I know, I’ve sent out a lot of newsletters of late, but there have been so many fun promotions to share! Today, I’m taking a quick jump back in time to the Steampunk world of my debut novel, The Girl and the Clockwork Cat, book one of the completed Clockwork Enterprises series. Clockwork Cat was the book that got me an agent and publisher back in 2013.
At the time, I was exploring the world of steampunk through various events in my area. The genre, while very niche, is full of fantastic clothing, music, and decor. I highly recommend looking into it just for the sheer delight of exploring that world.

I’ve joined up with a few other authors with steampunk novels to share in a promotion to get a free book for signing up on the author’s newsletter. If you are reading this in my newsletter, you’re obviously signed up and may have already read Clockwork Cat, but it might be worth taking a gander at the September Steampunk & Sleuths promotion to see what other steampunk gems are out there.
If you haven’t read the Clockwork Enterprises trilogy, it’s a fast-paced ride through a reimagined Victorian London with Maeko, a half-Japanese pickpocket, and Macak, a clever cat with a clockwork leg.
In other news, I’m finishing the current edit of book one of the new series today and will be sending it off to beta readers next week. I’m excited to move it along and hoping to have a cover reveal for you in October. I’ll be starting edits on book two next and working on the first draft of book four!
Oh, and for anyone who didn’t already know, this is my cat Neko. He was my model for Macak in the Clockwork Enterprises trilogy (also dressed up for the Steampunk Pirate Halloween Party).
Happy reading (or writing if that's your thing)!
